When visitors leave comments on the site, in workshops, etc.- WE (the mutual aid network, WordPress, etc) can collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Do not upload images directly to the site. Avoid texting or emailing images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Others may be able to download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Comments are only allowed in password protected portions of the site and may require a username, email address and cookies. WE uses these for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last up to one year.
The login page sets a temporary cookie that contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. Once you log in, it will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year.
